Our Mission

UgenTec is an international and fast-growing bio-IT company specialized in the development of diagnostic & workflow software for molecular laboratories. The UgenTec software solutions are situated on the challenging crossroad between IT, data science and biotechnology. We’re on a mission to heavily disrupt the rules in our market and are already recognized with multiple awards that confirm the value and promise of that mission. The UgenTec headquarters are located in Hasselt at the Corda Campus, where a diverse team of 50 people is bringing our SaaS software suite to the global market.

Your Team

As our UI/UX designer, you‘ll work with a multidisciplinary team to create appealing user experiences for our FastFinder product portfolio. You’ll be in frequent contact with people from all our departments including product development and marketing.

What you’ll do

At the feature & product ideation stage, you are solely responsible for translating conceptual product ideas into wireframes and high-fidelity mockups. Throughout development, you support software engineers in bringing designs to life. You build, maintain, and document our in-house design system, which is the basis of our entire product suite. Occasionally, you’ll help our marketing team in creating quality graphic materials.

What you’ll bring to the team

You understand the power of great design and are excited to push the status quo of user experiences for healthcare applications. You can envision product concepts and love to transform abstract product ideas into wireframes then mockups. You understand exactly when to use theoretical UX frameworks, when to just talk to users, when to use common sense and when to steal ideas from existing SaaS solutions.

● You’re a skilled graphic designer, icon designer. If you have proven (digital) illustration experience, that is considered a great plus

● You understand Figma, Figma collaboration, Figma design systems

● You understand wireframing tools/ digital whiteboarding.

● You understand design systems & modern webapp UX principles.

● You can grasp complex research tools.

● Experience in animation/ IX design, that is considered is a great plus.

● Understanding of modern webdesign & front-end technology, that is a considered a plus.

● You are good at receiving & giving (direct) feedback.

● You’re fluent in Dutch & English (speaking and writing).
