Rombit is looking for a Development Lead with a passion for technology, innovation and people. We contribute to our client’s business success by providing them with future-proof, innovative & sustainable digital I(o)T products.

As a Development Lead you will have a crucial technical leadership role within the company. You will help define and lead the technical architecture for our digital I(o)T projects and guard and evolve the technology stack of our company. You will guide and coach the development team towards building top quality technical solutions.

Your responsibilities

Technology

  • You are responsible for the technical architecture that underlie the solution of our projects. You oversee a good execution of that architecture into a solution in order to provide a best fit for the requirements. You are the translator of all technical matters from the development team to the client.
  • You keep an eye on upcoming technologies who can be interesting for our expert portfolio. You initiate proof of concepts with new technology to test the potential future/viability use in our solutions.
  • You define a development timing for a clearly defined scope. Technical derisking and feasibility check with POC’s when necessary.
  • You are open to spend time on writing code, code reviews, bug fixing & implementing best practices in order to increase your team’s productivity & experience

Pre-sales

  • You assist our customers during the diagnostics phase and project definition studies on technology opportunities.
  • You act as a technological gatekeeper to assure that we are able to deliver.
  • You boost client commitment and create full awareness of the impact of architectural choices and the maturity of the proposed solution.
  • You facilitate two-way communication and outline the impact of technical decisions with the team and client.

People

  • You coordinate technical knowledge sharing across different project teams. You guard and maximize the knowledge and expertise of our core technologies within the engineering teams. You propose training, books, conferences, …
  • You provide technical feedback to developers and keep them challenged and motivated on a technical level. Acts as a technical coach towards (junior) team members.
  • You coach, guide and support the growth of your team members through our “Talent Track”. You keep track of their motivation and interests and match them with opportunities within the company.
  • You guard our company culture and team atmosphere
  • Together with HR you will lead the hiring process of the dev team

Quality

  • You guard and maximize the quality of our projects by guarding and building a strong “way-of-working” throughout the teams.
  • You make sure strong documentation is followed.

Your profile

  • You have at least 5 years experience in a technical architecture role
  • You have proven experience in people management
  • You have excellent communication skills and experience in (technical) coaching of colleagues
  • You have extensive scrum-master experience
  • You have experience with preparing and leading technical refinements for a team
  • You are able to balance simplicity, durability and maintainability in architectural choices
  • You can propose a solution set covering the needs of a client. Able to explain the chosen patterns with well-founded arguments in order to propose a best fit for the project.
  • You are able to design POCs to derisk identified bottlenecks of the proposal.
  • You have knowledge of architectural patterns.
  • You have experience with project estimation breakdowns.
  • You’re fluent in Dutch and English.
