Qover is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with affinities with machine learning to strengthen our data capabilities. As a core member of the data team, you will be able to contribute to the definition of the data solutions that best answer our business needs. You will be in the driver's seat for the implementation of the data products, from prototyping to production, while always ensuring that your technical solutions align with the best engineering practices.
Your missions in the team
During the first months, your main objective is to develop a scalable and maintainable solution to expose reporting and dashboards to our partners. You will be in charge of:
● The technical assessment of the most suitable solution for our dashboarding needs, either relying on third-party software or an in-house solution
● The development and maintenance of the data pipelines that will feed the dashboards
● The development and maintenance of the dashboards front-end. You need to ensure that the dashboards are always up and running with fresh data
● Making sure that our partner’s data stay secured and private, one of our top priorities
● The collaboration with the business teams. You will need to help them define what are the most important metrics to display
● Advising business teams on how they shall best display the information, while making sure that the selected performance metrics are consistent across dashboards
● Ensuring a sufficient level of documentation
In the second stage, your contribution will shift towards ML engineering. You will be expected to develop, launch and maintain machine learning models to support both top-line and bottom-line growth. This will require you to:
● Help the business to prioritize the use-cases by assessing the technical risk for each project
● Develop, launch and maintain predictive models with a focus on b2b2c customers (churn, up-sell, cross-sell)
● Develop, launch and maintain models aiming at boosting our sales (price optimization, improved conversion rates)
● Develop, launch and maintain models to support our operation teams (fraud detection, faster and better claims handling, inbounds classification, etc…)
In addition, you will be a key technical contributor to the data space at Qover. You will leverage your expertise on various topics to:
● Bring our data architecture to the next level. This includes a constant review of our data model and data warehouse design
● Upskill the team by evangelising good practices
● Educate and help business users to become data-savvy
Your Experience
● Proven experience in leading business data projects
● You are familiar with the modern data stack
● Fluency in SQL and python
● Experience with bash, git, CI/CD and docker
● You have already delivered software products with units and integration tests
● Experience with pandas, scikit learn, mlflow and pytorch
● You have experience working with cloud services, and more specifically with fully managed data warehouses
● Tech Savviness is a must
● Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluency in English
Nice to have:
● Experience with dbt and Airbyte
● Experience with Google Cloud and Bigquery
● Familiarity with pub/sub, cloud functions, firestore
● Able to deploy and monitor APIs in a cloud environment
● Experience with streamlit and plotly
● You know what a micro-service architecture is
● Previous experience in the FinTech/Insurtech/SaaS world

On top of a full-time permanent contract with a highly competitive salary package, we offer:
